Syazwan Mustapha ran the 2025 Terengganu Marathon as his first marathon outside Kuala Lumpur. He ran a flat coastal course through Pasar Payang and the Drawbridge. Though he developed left knee pain partway through, he finished 5 minutes before the time limit.

The main venue for the 2027 race is the parking lot at Dataran Stadium Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin in Kuala Terengganu.

The race is divided into 42km, 21km, 10km, and 5km Fun Run, with detailed age- and gender-based categories for residents of Malaysia.

No rail/metro station — venue is Dataran parking, Stadium Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, Kuala Terengganu

Kuala Terengganu has no metro or urban rail. The race is an overnight event with flag-off staggered 9:10pm-2:15am spanning April 30-May 1, 2027 from the stadium car park.

Foreign runners typically arrive by air into Sultan Mahmud Airport (~20km from the city) and use taxi/Grab/rental car; no public-transit routing details found. Race kit collection happens at a DIFFERENT venue (Stadium Tertutup Kompleks Sukan Negeri Terengganu, Gong Badak, Kuala Nerus) on the days before the race.

Race kits can be collected at Stadium Tertutup Gong Badak in Kuala Nerus from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm on 30 April 2027 and from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on 1 May.

The collection venue is different from the main venue, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium,

so factor travel between both locations into your accommodation plans.

Kits cannot be collected after the stated collection period,

and collection by a representative requires a copy of the passport or identity card and an authorisation letter.

Depending on the selected package, the kit includes an official T-shirt, a Muslim women's shirt, or a singlet, as well as bib, a timing chip, and an event bag.

Shirt sizes cannot be changed after registration is confirmed, so choose your size when registering.

If you cannot collect the kit in person, you can select delivery during registration.

Registration cannot be refunded, transferred, or changed.
