The TUI Cyprus Marathon is a road race that connects the landscape and history of the Paphos region along the Mediterranean coast.

It starts from the coastal legend that Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, was born,

and continues through seaside roads and traditional villages to the port of Paphos.

The characteristic of full marathon is that you encounter one after another the coast where ancient stories are told and the village where people still live.

Organizers introduce Mediterranean hospitality and the support of local residents around course as part of the competition experience.

This competition, which has been running for a long time since it was first held,

has connected the nature and cultural heritage of the Paphos region through running.

Course operates according to World Athletics competition rules and offers a combination of coastal scenery and an officially recorded race.

Running along the sea, full marathon passes through traditional villages and continues into local living spaces,

allowing you to see Paphos in a different way than a trip that stays in one port.

During the week of the competition, half marathon and short-distance road races, a short event run at dusk, and a wine run are also held.

Half marathon takes you to the flat coast course, while the short road race takes you on palm tree-lined roads close to the beach.

Even if the stage is the same area, the scenery and running length of each event are different.

With full marathon, you can take a long route between the coast and the village, or experience the atmosphere of a seaside city in a short distance.

It is a competition that combines the nature of the Mediterranean coast, legends and old ports, and running of various distances.

Typical race-season temperature: around 11°C (52°F)
Short sleeves or light long sleeves + arm warmers
Aid stations
Water stations every 2.5 km

More details

Getting to the start

Full marathon: Petra tou Romiou (Aphrodite's Birthplace), coastal site outside Paphos, no train/metro (Cyprus has no passenger rail). Half Marathon/10km: Pafos Castle Square, walkable in Kato Paphos

CITY CONFIRMED: this is the Paphos (Pafos) edition, not Limassol. For the full marathon, official coach shuttles are the primary way to reach the start — depart Kato Paphos Main Bus Station (~300m from Pafos Castle) 05:30-05:50 race morning; self-transport runners must be at Petra tou Romiou by 06:20.

The official bus leaves Kato Pafos Port Bus Terminal from 5:30 to 5:50 to the marathon starting point (select at check-in).

Getting to the finish

Pafos Harbour/Pafos Castle, race village/bag drop at 'En Plo' Exhibition Hall ~100m from the Castle

Kato Paphos Main Bus Station (local Pafos Buses) sits ~300m from the finish. Taxis and walking (for Kato Paphos lodgers) are other options — no rail alternative exists anywhere in Cyprus.

Start shuttle

Official organizer shuttle buses run 05:30-05:50 from Kato Paphos Main Bus Station to the full-marathon start at Petra tou Romiou — the only shuttle service documented.

Transit card

Motion (the shared smart-card ticketing brand used across all Cyprus Public Transport bus operators)

Cyprus Public Transport sales offices/points, select kiosks, and vending machines; can be topped up via the Pame app Not accepted at the gates — get the local card above

Public bus transit exists but is limited and infrequent outside main towns; contactless bank-card tap payment is only being piloted on some routes in the Famagusta area, not island-wide, so don't count on tapping a foreign card. Cash works with every operator, but drivers often carry little change.
