The marathon starts at the Windhoek City Council parking area on Independence Avenue in Katutura and runs through residential areas and the city centre.

Half marathon follows the same route as the marathon as far as Dr Kenneth Kaunda Street, then turns off and continues to the finish at Zoo Park.

Getting to the start

no rail/metro in Windhoek — DTS Club, Olympia neighborhood, Windhoek

No live official site found (windhoekmarathon.com is dead);

this is the Windhoek Harriers-organized event at DTS Club.

Note: the separate, larger 'Vivo Energy Windhoek Marathon' (different sponsor/organizer, held in May) is a different race;

info below is for the DTS Club/Olympia race specifically.

Per 2024 edition: turn onto Mandume Ndemufayo Avenue through Academia, past University of Namibia,

continue through Pionierspark on a 21.1km loop (marathon entrants run it twice).
