Yerevan Marathon and Half Marathon

Packet pickup runs over two days, October 16 (2 p.m.–9 p.m.) and October 17 (10 a.m.–7 p.m.), and you must bring your own ID.

Minors must come with a parent or guardian who signs a consent form.

On the 17th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. there's a pasta party for half marathon and marathon runners.

The event is split over two days.

On the 17th, a 1K kids' run (10 a.m.) and a 5K (11 a.m.) are held near the Florence restaurant in the Hrazdan river gorge;

on the 18th, the 12K, half marathon and marathon start together at 8 a.m. from Shahumyan Square and return to the same square.

Drink and refreshment stations come every 4–5km, with water, cola, sports drink, fruit and energy gels.

Medical staff are stationed at the start and finish and around the course.

The course ranges between 970 and 1,070m above sea level,

with total climbs of 165m for the half marathon and 300m for the marathon, so save some energy for the late climbs.

Yerevan in October averages a high of 21.6°C and a low of 7.1°C,

a big swing between day and night, with about 51mm of rain and just over five wet days in the month.

It's chilly around the 8 a.m. start, so a layer to wear until the gun is handy.

The entry fee is 15,000–22,000 dram for the marathon, 11,000–17,000 dram for the half marathon and 9,000–13,000 dram for the 12K.
