Race reports: 4
Aditi PandyaRan in 2025 · Finish time 1:39:30
“Seeing the last “500mts” board, was a relief.”

Aditi recorded 1 hour 39 minutes 30 seconds at the Ahmedabad half marathon. During the first 10km, she conserved her pace as planned and ran a course that passed through 6 underpasses and crossed a bridge twice. Some sections were dark, so she had to concentrate on the road surface. At the end, encouragement from her mother brought great relief.

ChiragRan in 2024 · Finish time 3h:10m:30s
“Achieved : 3h:10m:30s”

After high-mileage weekly training, Chirag took part in the Adani Ahmedabad Marathon and finished in 3 hours 10 minutes 30 seconds, within target A.

Bhaskar ThakurRan in 2024 · Finish time 01:41:37
“Result: No PR, lekin second-best time at 1:41:37.”

Bhaskar Thakur completed the 2024 Adani Ahmedabad half marathon in 1 hour 41 minutes 37 seconds. He collected his bib at the expo, ran according to a hydration and gel intake plan, and maintained a steady pace on the flat sections after the early congestion. He recorded that he ate at his hotel after the finish because the food queue was long.

ChiragRan in 2024 · Finish time 03:10:30
“Overall, the race was efficiently managed, and the course was moderately difficult.”

Chirag took part in the 2024 Adani Ahmedabad Marathon after recovering from an injury and finished in 3 hours 10 minutes 30 seconds. He experienced the 4:45 am start, a well-organized expo, and aid station every 3–4 km. He wrote that the short uphill and downhill sections through the underpasses were manageable, but that the lack of sports drink was disappointing.

We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.

Runners start · local time — 2026 race start times: full marathon 04:00, half marathon 05:15, 10K 06:30, 5K 07:30 (IST).

The Adani Ahmedabad Marathon started in 2017 in Ahmedabad, in the Indian state of Gujarat, and the November 29, 2026 race is its 10th edition.

It succeeded the Sabarmati Marathon, held from 2010 to 2015, is certified by the Athletics Federation of India, and has been on the AIMS race list since 2022.

The 9th edition in 2025 drew more than 24,000 participants, over 4,000 of them from the army, navy, air force and police.

The event's theme is Run4OurSoldiers, in support of the armed forces.

The start and finish are at Sabarmati Riverfront Sports Park in Paldi.

The course follows the Sabarmati River past Atal Bridge, Gandhi Ashram and Ellis Bridge on flat roads just over 50m above sea level,

so the only ups and downs are bridge ramps and underpass slopes.

The entire course is closed to traffic on race day.

There are four races: marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K.

The time limit is 6 hours 30 minutes for the marathon, 3 hours 30 minutes for the half marathon, 2 hours for the 10K and 1 hour 30 minutes for the 5K.

The marathon and half marathon are open to runners aged 18 and over, the 10K to 12 and over, and the 5K to 10 and over.

To mark the 10th edition, there's a special Decade of Valor finisher medal.

Typical race-season temperature: around 24°C (76°F)

Where and when to collect your Adani Ahmedabad Marathon race bib

So on race morning, you can just run.

From the 2025 edition

Pick up your bib at the expo

The location and operating hours of the 2026 edition of the Expo have not yet been officially announced.

Stations & transport near the venue

  • Getting to the startSabarmati Riverfront, Opposite Atal Bridge, Paldi, Ahmedabad — nearest Ahmedabad Metro is Paldi station…
  • IC cardFor most short trips, cash tickets on BRTS/AMTS buses or auto-rickshaws (or ride-hailing apps) are the simplest option for a visiting runner. The dedicated BRTS/AMTS transit card (Janmitra) has had its issuance suspended, so don't plan around getting one; the Ahmedabad Metro has its own separate smart card if you'll use the metro specifically. More details

Getting to the start

Sabarmati Riverfront, Opposite Atal Bridge, Paldi, Ahmedabad — nearest Ahmedabad Metro is Paldi station (~0.96km/~10min walk); BRTS buses along Ashram Road corridor stop within ~500m of the venue/Atal Bridge

Start/finish for all distances (5K/10K/Half/Full). Course is fully closed to traffic on race morning.

Getting to the finish

Same as start — Sabarmati Riverfront/Atal Bridge, Paldi

Loop-style course returning to the riverfront event centre; nearest access is Paldi metro station or the Ashram Road BRTS corridor.

Start shuttle

Official FAQ mentions only 'designated parking areas near the start/finish zone' with details to be shared closer to race day. With full road closures on race morning, foreign runners should plan on Ahmedabad Metro to Paldi station plus a short walk, or BRTS/auto-rickshaw, rather than driving.

IC card

Janmitra Card (BRTS/AMTS) — currently suspended; Ahmedabad Metro Smart Card is separate and unrelated

Janmitra Card: not currently issuable. Metro Smart Card: at any Ahmedabad Metro station ticket counter (₹100, includes ₹50 deposit + ₹50 stored value)

Not accepted at the gates — get the local card above BRTS/AMTS and the Metro are not integrated with each other — different cards, different fare gates.

Many visitors find app-based ride-hailing (Uber/Ola/Rapido) or auto-rickshaws more practical than the bus network.

READY TO RUN

From race morning to after the finish.

Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.

You collect your bib and official T-shirt at the bib expo held 1–2 days before the race.

The expo has usually run on the Friday and Saturday right before race day at a venue on the Riverfront in Paldi;

bring your registration confirmation email and an original photo ID.

International runners just need their passport.

This is an early-start race.

The marathon goes at 4 a.m.,

the half marathon at 5:15, the 10K at 6:30 and the 5K at 7:30, so marathon runners cover more than half the distance before sunrise.

Ahmedabad in November averages a high of 33.1°C and a low of 17.2°C, with almost no rain.

It's a cool 15–18°C before dawn but climbs quickly into the mid-20s Celsius once the sun is up, so make use of every aid station in the second half.

In 2025, 21 medical booths and ambulances were stationed along the course,

and in 2026 the race is running eco-friendly aid stations that cut down on single-use waste.

Roads along the riverfront are closed on race day, so public transit or a taxi is easier than driving.

The nearest metro station is Paldi, about 0.96km from the Riverfront venue, a walk of just over 10 minutes.

Times are local to Ahmedabad. Check the latest official information before the race.
