THE DREAM
It reached its current scale in just two editions.
The scenery of Belle-Île-en-Mer is impressive, but it is the islanders' hospitality that gives this race its character.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“Once I came out of the water, I could miraculously run again!”
Underprepared after injury, the runner tackled Belle-Île en Trail 83km, easing repeated cramps by soaking their legs in seawater. Thoughts of their father strengthened their resolve, and they crossed finish hand in hand with a fellow runner.

Je sors de l’eau et miracle, je peux à nouveau courir !!!!!
Read the original on Kikourou“I finished this tough, demanding trail race in 12 hours 32 minutes.”
The runner enjoyed Belle-Île en Trail 83km's beautiful coast but tired in the heat and short, steep climbs and descents. Calf cramps meant mostly walking the final 13km before running just before the finish for 12 hours 32 minutes.

Official FAQ: access to Belle-Île is by ferry from Quiberon (crossing under 1 hour, event partner is Compagnie Océane, which offers runners a preferential fare). Start area is at Bois du Génie, fortifications de Le Palais, on the Jardin Botanique side next to Salle Arletty (official site).
Belle-Île is only reachable by boat; no bridge or shuttle exists, so ferry schedule from Quiberon governs arrival timing.
Not separately specified in the FAQ beyond the start-area description; races appear to start/finish in the same Le Palais fortifications area per official course pages.
Official FAQ states explicitly no on-island shuttle is planned ('aucune navette n'est prévue'), though it notes runners in past editions have always managed to reach the start on time using ferry timetables. Runners are urged to book ferry tickets early to make bib pickup and start times.
Belle-Ile-en-Mer is an island reached only by ferry (Compagnie Oceane) from Quiberon on the French mainland, so there is no urban transit card system. Ferry tickets are bought online or at the port with cash or bank card, and on the island itself getting around is by rental car, bicycle, or the limited local bus service (cash/card at the stop).
No IC card or contactless tap-to-pay applies here.

Held in Le Palais on Belle-Île-en-Mer, the race faces Brittany's changeable September coastal weather, so be prepared for possible rain and strong winds.

Bib pickup begins at 2:00pm on 18 September, the day before the race,
timed to the arrival of the last ferry, and is also available on race day from 7:30am to 2:00pm.
Course follows coastal paths and includes steep, rough sections.
Times are local to Le Palais. Check the latest official information before the race.
