This is one of West Sumatra's largest sports-tourism events, held to celebrate the anniversary of Padang's city status under the slogan “Run The Coast,
Feel The Culture.” The start and finish are around Lake Cimpago on Padang Beach.
The line-up includes half marathon, 10K, and 5K races, plus a children's 2K and a senior 1K.
More than 4,000 runners took part in the 2026 edition.
It is a course linking the coastal road with Minangkabau cultural districts.

So on race morning, you can just run.
Per official/local government coverage, the race is centered on Pantai Cimpago / Purus (Cimpago Beach area), Padang, with the course passing Jembatan Siti Nurbaya, Masjid Al-Hakim, Gunung Padang, Bukit Gado-Gado, Pantai Air Manis and the Kota Tua (Old City) area before returning to the beach. No train/MRT station exists in Padang; the venue is a beachfront area reached by road.
Official race site returned a 403/blocked response and could not be verified directly; information here is per official government press coverage, labeled accordingly for the venue description, though the date match is corroborated by multiple independent news sources.

Padang has no dedicated IC transit card system; local angkot minibuses run informal color-coded routes with cash-only fares paid directly to the driver, and there are no fixed stops. Most visitors rely on ojek (motorbike taxi) apps like Gojek/Grab or car rental for getting around, both paid via app or cash.
This is a cash-and-app city rather than a card-based transit one.

The Purus area of Padang Beach, where the race is held, is close to the city center and easy to reach by angkot (local minibus) or ride-hailing service.
As an equatorial coastal city, Padang is humid even before dawn, so planning your hydration is important.
