RACE WEEK
Know the course and time limit, and race day comes into focus.
Carmel Marathon Weekend is a road race that runs through the parks and arts district of Carmel, Indiana, USA.
Full marathon, half marathon, 10km, and 5km are held together, and the organizers introduce it as course, which is suitable for record challenges.
There is a character in the game that connects the living area of Carmel and the scenery of Hamilton County.
The city's cultural spaces also serve as a backdrop for the run, with local performance facilities and art and design districts included at key points.
Full marathon starts on City Center Drive north of Palladium and ends in the same area.
After passing through Carmel's Park and the Arts and Design District, return toward the Performing Arts Center.
Since it passes again near the start and finish at the midpoint, the front and rear course are connected through the central event venue.
The scene where a long-distance participant returns after running half of the race and the scene where he or she heads off to a new section overlap in the same place.
On the official course map, you can see how the central and outer sections meet.
The terrain is a mix of flat roads and gentle curves, with some hills.
Based on this terrain, the competition introduces course to runners aiming for the Boston Marathon entry standard record.
Short event and half marathon participants also gather at the same weekend event to expand individual distance options.
The scenery of the Carmel Marathon comes from a path that connects parks,
the city's cultural district, and a performing arts center rather than a single tourist attraction.
It is natural to think of it as a race that involves running through familiar urban spaces over long distances.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
Carmel has no public transit system of its own — plan on rideshare (Uber/Lyft), a rental car, or your hotel's shuttle to get to the race start/expo.
None currently - no direct rail/BRT service to Carmel City Center
Start/finish is at the Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts, corner of 3rd Ave SW and City Center Drive, Carmel, IN.
No passenger rail or fixed-route bus reaching Carmel City Center directly.
Same as start - Palladium/Carmel City Center
Start and finish are both at the same downtown Carmel location.
No organizer shuttle service found.
Nearest practical access is by car/rideshare, roughly 20-25 minutes from downtown Indianapolis.
Carmel's own city government states explicitly that Carmel does not have public transportation.
The nearest regional systems, IndyGo (Indianapolis) and the CIRTA Express weekday commuter bus,
do not currently run fixed routes into Carmel itself (an IndyGo Red Line extension to Carmel is only proposed, not built as of 2026).
For a runner, walking/rideshare within Carmel plus a car or rideshare into Indianapolis is the realistic plan.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
Bib must be received at the Expo the day before the game.
Since Packet Pickup is not operated on the day of the game, please plan to arrive the day before,
and factor the yet-to-be-confirmed expo location into your travel plans once information is released.
The competition bag given out when receiving bib is also a special bag used to store stadium items.
Write the number bib on the storage bag and leave it in the storage tent in the start/finish area.
You must present bib when picking up your bag after completing the race, so you must have bib with you even after the finals.
If you put a change of clothes and the items you need to return home in your special bag, you can continue the route once you finish the race.
Free parking is available around the event venue, and the organizers recommend a nearby parking building.
Choose a location that is easily accessible on foot from the locations marked on the official parking map,
such as The Center's public parking lot, Veterans Way, and Civic Square.
Aid station offers water and lemon-lime Gatorade, and some locations also have Pure Fuel.
Pancake meals are also provided in the finisher's area, so it's a good idea to point out where to find your luggage and where to eat.
Times are local to Carmel. Check the latest official information before the race.
