From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I ended up basically walking it in the last 10 miles.”At Eastern States 100, a fast start and high humidity hurt, but conversation with other runners kept the runner moving. Damaged feet forced them to walk almost all of the final 10 miles, finishing in 34 hours 47 minutes 47 seconds.
“Crossing the finish line was simply unforgettable.”At Eastern States 100, steep rocky descents damaged the runner's feet, while heavy nighttime rain and sleepiness added to the struggle. Repeated foot treatment helped them keep going and cross the finish.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.
