This marathon takes place in the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone between Zhuhai and Macau.

It starts at Jinrongdao Central Park and links the Haojiang riverside with Mangzhou Wetland and Huahai Changlang.

It is a border-adjacent race for 20,000 participants, with runners looking across the river towards Macau.

The Hengqin Marathon is known for its course along the Hao River, which flows between Zhuhai and Macau.

Half marathon and full marathon start near Central Park on Hengqin Financial Island,

then pass along Huitong 5th Road, Rong'ao Road, Huandao East Road, Hengqin Avenue, Zhongxin Avenue,

Xiangjiang Road, Tianyu Road, and Haojiang Road, taking in landscaped attractions such as Shiboyuan,

Hengqin Financial Base, Mangzhou Wetland, the Flower Sea Corridor, and Sandiequan.

Running beside the river with views of the Macau skyline is widely regarded as the biggest appeal of this course.

Getting to the start

Hengqin Station (横琴站), Guangzhu Intercity Railway / Zhuhai Metro Line 2

Half marathon start is Hengqin Financial Island Central Park, close to Zhuhai Metro Line 2 and about 3 minutes by car from Hengqin Port/Hengqin intercity rail station. Date confirmed: Sun 27 Dec 2026, 7:30am start.

Two distances: full marathon (5,000 runners) and half marathon (15,000 runners).

Full and half marathon finish is at Hengqin International Tennis Center, about a 2-3 minute drive from Hengqin Station.

READY TO RUN

From race morning to after the finish.

Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.

Registration usually opens in late September and runs for about two weeks (based on the previous year).

The total field is 20,000, comprising 4,000 full marathon, 12,000 half marathon, and 4,000 5–6 km Fun Run participants.

The race starts at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Each section has its own cut-off point cut-off time, and runners who fail to pass the relevant point within time limit must immediately leave the course.

On race day, major roads including Zhongxin Avenue, Aiqin Road, Qinhai North Road, Huandaoxi Road,

and Haojiang Road are closed from 7:10 a.m. to 1:10 p.m. (based on the previous year).

General traffic must use detours such as Gang’ao Avenue or Tianyu Island.
