This urban road race starts at the intersection of Xiangyu Avenue and Yuexiu Road in Huai’an and finishes at the Huai’an Sports Center.
It offers the marathon and half marathon, and the 2026 edition was registered as a World Athletics Label Road Race.

At the 2025 Huai'an Marathon, Liu Xiaolin drew strength from residents' cheers despite strong winds, airborne pollen and fatigue. After enjoying food, beer and photos at 35 km, Liu finished a 30th marathon in 4 hours 26 minutes 29 seconds.

The day after finishing the Xi'an Marathon, Guan Mendao took part in the inaugural Huai'an Marathon in 2021 as an official runner tasked with meeting time limit in the role of pacer. Despite fatigue and a cold dawn, Guan set off and, cheered by students who stayed to the end, guided the runners at the back to finish to complete marathons on consecutive days.

RACE WEEK
Know the course and time limit, and race day comes into focus.
From the 2026 editionWe have not confirmed the start line coordinates yet. The map shows the host city.
For the 2026 edition, the marathon field was 8000 runners and half marathon had 7000.
Both races started at the Xiangyu Avenue–Yuexiu Road intersection, passing Meikao Road and Cheng'en Avenue.
The marathon then continued via Zhanqian Road, Dianhuai Road, Ximen Avenue and Beimen Avenue, passing the Jinhua Tower area.
It went on through Yunhebei Road, Chenghe Street and Jingyuan Road, turned around on Binhe Avenue,
then passed Chaocheng Road, Tongfu Road, Meicheng Road and Huai'an University before finishing at Huai'an Sports Center.
Half marathon passed Kangma Road, Sanyang Avenue and Haitian Road,
returned to Xiangyu Avenue and turned around along the Wankang Road and Longjiang Road section.
Both course featured major roads, fully controlled sections and turnaround points, with frequent changes of direction.
Marathon entrants had to be at least 20, while half marathon entrants had to be at least 18, and each race required a qualifying finish within the previous 24 months.
If applications exceeded capacity, places were assigned by lottery and waitlist order.

Registration is available through the event website, the Huipao official WeChat account, the Participant Assistant mini-program and the Digital Xindong app.
For the 2026 edition, applications were accepted from January 21–27, with lottery results announced on February 6.
Selected runners and waitlisted applicants had to pay by 17:00 on February 9.
For future editions, it is best to set calendar reminders so you do not miss the lottery results or payment deadline.
For the previous edition, on-site race-pack collection was available only on April 10–11 and was not offered on race morning.
Runners had to present the original valid ID used for registration;
foreign participants could use a passport or Foreigner Permanent Resident ID Card.
Proxy collection was not allowed, and identity was verified by facial recognition.
Baggage drop at the start closed at 7:15, so runners should arrive early for the 7:30 start.
Only the official baggage bag was accepted.
After finishing, Packet Pickup collection closed at half marathon 11:00 and the marathon at 14:00.
