The road to your own record
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.

The city you want to run becomes your next trip.
THE DREAM
Held on the east side of Ray Roberts Lake, an hour north of Dallas and Fort Worth.
The course is mostly well-packed singletrack, mixed with technical sections featuring tree roots and rocks.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“Despite not being the joyful experience I'd hoped for, I felt wonderful finishing.”At the 2017 Isle du Bois 55-kilometer, lingering effects of a cold and injury left the runner dizzy and in pain from the second loop. They mixed in walking on the final loop to finish just before time limit, securing their only ultra finish that year and their 20th overall.
“I finished in 8:34, and I'm ok with that.”At the Isle du Bois 50-kilometer, the runner rolled an ankle several times, put on a brace, and kept going around the lakeside course at Ray Roberts Lake. They accelerated late to meet time limit and were content with their finish of 8 hours, 34 minutes.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.
