THE DREAM
This half marathon runs through Kuldīga’s Old Town, the jewel of Kurzeme, Latvia’s former capital region.
The winding course links cobbled lanes with the Venta riverfront and also serves as the Latvian half marathon Championships.
Started in 2006 and now more than 20 years old, it is a summer festival hosted by the city of Venta Rapid, Europe’s widest waterfall.

RACE WEEK
Know the course and time limit, and race day comes into focus.
From the 2026 editionThe program covers all generations, with half marathon as the main event alongside 10K, 5K, a walk, a children’s race, and even a baby crawling race.
Race headquarters are set up at Kuldīga’s municipal outdoor stage at Pētera iela 5.
The course follows a loop course through the Old Town’s cobbled streets and along the Venta riverfront.
With many turns and hot summer lanes, it is more about enjoying the atmosphere than chasing a personal best.
The men’s course record is 1:06:17.

So on race morning, you can just run.
Kuldīgas pilsētas estrāde (Kuldīga City Stage), Pētera iela 5, Kuldīga
Race center, start and finish are all at Kuldīga City Stage on Pētera iela. No passenger rail serves Kuldīga (line closed); nearest option is Kuldīgas autoosta (bus station), roughly 1 km / 12–15 min walk from the venue.
Official 2026 edition (21st) is confirmed for Saturday 8 August 2026, not Sunday 9 August as listed. The prior (20th) edition was held on 9 August 2025, so the listed date matches a real past edition of this recurring race — normal year-to-year date drift, not a conflict.
Kuldīgas pilsētas estrāde, Pētera iela 5, Kuldīga
Same venue as start (city stage/finish zone).
organizer only publishes a parking map, no shuttle service mentioned.
Kuldiga is a small Latvian town with no dedicated transit card system; local and regional buses take cash payment directly from the driver (around EUR 2 per ride). Most visitors arrive by car or intercity bus from Riga rather than using in-town transit.
This is effectively a walkable small-town venue.

Kuldīga is not served by rail, so the standard route is a bus journey of about 2 hours 30 minutes from Riga.
Traffic restrictions will be in place around the Old Town on race day, so drivers should check diversion notices.
Registration is available through the official website.
Times are local to Kuldiga. Check the latest official information before the race.
