This legendary French Alps trail race climbs from the valley village of Aime to the summit of the Bellecôte Glacier at 3,050m before descending again.

Covering 65km with approximately 3,500m of elevation gain, the name “6000D” comes from the total of the climbs and descents.

It is the original classic, dating back to the 1990s, and includes the climb up La Plagne’s Olympic bobsleigh track.

We have not confirmed the start line coordinates yet. The map shows the host city.

The flagship 6000D (65km) starts from Aime at 4:30 a.m., passes through La Plagne’s high-altitude villages,

reaches the Bellecôte Glacier, descends through the Montchavin forest trails and finishes beside the Isère River.

95% of the course is on trails, and Relay is also held.

Other distances include the 6D Marathon, 6D Rock, 6D Crêtes, Discovery and Poul’Et.

There is also the “6 Défi” challenge, linking the Crêtes, Rock and Marathon over three days.

Typical race-season temperature: around 12°C (54°F): Short sleeves or light long sleeves + arm warmers

Plagne Centre, La Plagne (Aime, Savoie) — no direct rail into the resort

The listed date (Thu 30 July 2026) corresponds to the '6D Crêtes' (21 km) event, starting/finishing at Plagne Centre at 8:30am —

not the flagship 69 km 'La 6000D' race.

Nearest rail is Aime–La Plagne TGV/TER station;

no funicular, so travelers take shuttle bus line T8.

Multi-day event with different sub-races on different days/venues.

Listed date matches the 6D Crêtes sub-event, not a conflict.

Line T8 shuttle bus connects Aime-la-Plagne train station to La Plagne resort villages.

Stations & transport near the venue

La Plagne is a high-altitude ski resort with no dedicated public transit card system;

access is primarily by car, shuttle bus, or the resort's own lift/gondola network.

Any local shuttle or lift tickets are purchased directly at resort ticket offices, which accept cash and card.

This is a car/shuttle-access mountain venue rather than a city transit destination.
