The road to your own record

The city you want to run becomes your next trip.

THE DREAM
This is Lake Tahoe Marathon Week, held over three days — Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
There are two 5K events, a 10K, three half marathon events, three full marathon events,
and a 72-mile ultramarathon around Lake Tahoe plus a 4-person ultra relay.
You can sign up for just one event,
or take on three consecutive days of the full marathon (the Tahoe Triple) or three consecutive days of the half marathon (the Tahoe Trifecta).
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I finished in 4:06:36.”David's legs were tired from racing the previous two days at the 2014 Lake Tahoe Marathon, but David ran the climbs and photographed the lake views. Focusing on time late, David crossed finish in 4 hours, 6 minutes, 36 seconds, cutting about 7 minutes off his personal best at this course.
“If you think it sounds like another beautiful, amazing Tahoe day, you're right!”This runner started the Lake Tahoe Marathon with a swollen throat and feeling unwell, but held the lead late to finish first among women. Despite a tough final stretch, the runner improved the best on the course by more than 30 minutes and celebrated with a swim in the lake.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.
Preview the course and read what runners who went before you wrote.

We have not confirmed the start line coordinates yet. The map shows the host city.
A point-to-point course starting on H89 south of Homewood and finishing at Lakeside Beach in South Lake Tahoe.
There is only one event: full marathon.
The start is in South Lake Tahoe, CA at 7:00 AM local time.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
Thursday 15:00-18:00 advance pickup (Triple, Trifecta, and Friday/Saturday participants); race-day morning pickup is also available
TART (Tahoe Truckee Area Regional Transit) Mainline Route — Homewood/Tahoma
Start line is on Hwy 89 at Meadow Road, just south of Homewood, CA. TART's Mainline Route serves shoreline communities including Tahoma and Homewood along Hwy 89. Runners are bused from South Lake Tahoe to the start line.
The official shuttle bus, free on Sunday, departs from the Golden Nugget hotel casino in Stateline and runs to start line. The bus timetable is on the back of bib.
Parking is available at the BluZone lot, at the intersection of H50 and H89, or at the post office opposite.
BlueGO South Shore bus lines — South Lake Tahoe
Finish is Lakeside Beach, South Lake Tahoe, CA, within BlueGO's South Shore service area.
Official event shuttle buses runners from South Lake Tahoe to the Hwy 89/Meadow Rd start line.
South Lake Tahoe is served by the local BlueGO bus system, which takes cash fares and does not have a widely used rechargeable transit card. Given the spread-out venues around the lake, most participants in the Lake Tahoe Marathon Events will want a rental car.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
The Lake Tahoe area sits at an elevation of 1,885-2,084m,
so runners coming from lower elevations should expect to feel more winded than usual and recover more slowly.
The latter half of the marathon course has significant elevation change, making it one of the more difficult races in the country.
In mid-October, temperatures in the area range from a daytime high around 18°C to a nighttime low around 4°C,
with rain or snow fairly unlikely, though year-to-year temperature swings can be large.
Bibs can be picked up in advance from 3:00 to 6:00 PM Thursday for Triple, Trifecta,
and Friday/Saturday participants, and can also be collected on race morning if you miss that window.
Times are local to South Lake Tahoe. Check the latest official information before the race.
