“By evening I wanted my usual reward, so ice cream was today's dessert.”
Headwinds beside the canal and cold rain late on made it hard to accelerate at the Pyramids half marathon. The runner found another effort on the final straight to finish in 1 hour 38 minutes 43 seconds.

Le soir venant, comme à mon habitude, je me lache, ce soir c'est glace en dessert.

RACE WEEK

From the 2026 editionWe have not confirmed the start line coordinates yet. The map shows the host city.
Les Pyramides is a running event held every March in La Grande-Motte, a Mediterranean coastal city in southern France.
Both the city and the race take their names from the stepped pyramid-shaped buildings that symbolise La Grande-Motte;
these landmarks are recognised as part of France's 20th-century cultural heritage.
The 5km and 10km course courses loop between these pyramid buildings,
making the chance to run against a Mediterranean backdrop alongside distinctive architecture the race's defining feature.
The event has a long history,
reaching its 32nd edition in 2026, and has become a major local running event attracting around 5,000 and sometimes nearly 6,000 runners each year.
Organised by the Lions Club, it has a strong charitable focus, raising funds to support sick and disabled children.
Under the slogan 'Let's run for children',
it offers the adult 5km, 10km and half marathon alongside 1km and 2.5km course events for children, making it popular with families.
