昆明中铁公园, Xishan District
The race starts at Kunming Zhongtie Park in Xishan District, Kunming.
From there, course follows the shore of Dianchi Lake, Yunnan's largest freshwater lake.
Around December, Dianchi coincides with the season when flocks of black-headed gulls migrate from Siberia to spend the winter,
so runners may see waterbirds along the lakeside course.
Both the 21 km and 7 km events use the same lakeside section,
while the 7 km event is untimed and focuses on completing the course rather than recording an official result.
