THE DREAM
Renamed after taking over the 37th Kawaguchiko Marathon, which began in 1976, this is the 51st running overall and the 15th Fuji Mountain Marathon.
It will be held on December 12 (Saturday)–13 (Sunday), 2026.
The organizers are Nikkan Sports Holdings, Fujikawaguchiko Town, the Yamanashi Athletics Association, and the Albis Sports Foundation.
Events include full marathon, the Kawaguchiko Loop (17 km), Charity Fun Run (10.5 km), Zekkei Run (4 km and 8 km), and Zekkei Walk.
For Charity Fun Run,
¥223 per participant from the entry fee is donated to Fujikawaguchiko Town’s “Mount Fuji World Cultural Heritage Conservation Promotion Project Fund.” The race is part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors MTT Age Group World Ranking and is affiliated with the Marathon Challenge Cup (MCC).

Full marathon is the Japan Association of Athletics Federations-certified Kawaguchiko–Saiko Circuit course (42.195 km),
starting and finishing at the Funatsu-hama Hirahama Parking Lot in Fujikawaguchiko Town, Yamanashi Prefecture.
The start is at 9:00, and the time limit is 6 hours (gun time).
Runners can enjoy views of World Heritage-listed Mount Fuji from various points along the course,
and the organizers describe it as a course where the surrounding snow scenery contrasts beautifully with Mount Fuji.
The course includes the famously named “Heartbreak Hill”,
but the lakeside sections around Kawaguchiko and Saiko among the Fuji Five Lakes are generally flat.
Course is designated within Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park,
and the organizers describe this as a full marathon in a national park with no equivalent elsewhere in Japan.
There are six cutoff points: 10:57 at the Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge at 12.1 km, 12:03 at the Terasaki Fishing Cooperative Parking Lot at 20.5 km, 13:00 in front of the Saiko Community Center at 27.3 km, 13:24 in front of the Saiko Community Hall at 30.3 km, 14:03 at the Ashiwada Branch Office at 35.1 km,
and 14:24 at Roadside Station Katsuyama at 37.7 km.
The finish is at 15:00.
The Kawaguchiko Loop (approximately 17 km) starts at 10:30, passes the Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge (approximately 1 km) at 10:57, the Terasaki Fishing Cooperative Parking Lot (approximately 9 km) at 12:03, and Roadside Station Katsuyama (approximately 13 km) at 12:30, and cut-off point closes at 13:30.
Other events include Charity Fun Run (10.5 km), the new Zekkei Run (4 km and 8 km), and Zekkei Walk.

You can choose how to receive your materials: paid advance shipping (no race-day check-in required), advance collection at Alpen TOKYO (Shinjuku), collection at the venue the day before the race, or collection at the venue on race day.
In previous editions, venue collection the day before and on race day operated with reserved time slots.
Kawaguchiko Station (河口湖駅, Fujikyuko Line)
The venue is the Funatsuhama waterfront on Lake Kawaguchiko, approximately a 7-minute walk from Kawaguchiko Station.
This is now a 2-day festival: Saturday, December 12, 2026 hosts the Scenic Walk (approximately 4km) and Scenic Run (4km/8km) events;
Sunday, December 13, 2026 hosts the main 42.195km full marathon (9:00 start) and the approximately 17km Lake Kawaguchiko Lap.
Kawaguchiko Station (河口湖駅) - same as the start; the course finishes back at Funatsuhama

Bus packages to Tokyo are available, including Fuji-Q Travel Access Tours.
No specific shuttle bus details were found in the available sources;
access is via the Fujikyuko Line to Kawaguchiko Station, followed by a short walk.

There are four ways to collect your race materials.
Bib, the timing chip and a baggage envelope, for baggage users only, can be sent in advance for an additional 1,500 yen to domestic addresses.
Alternatively, collect them at Alpen Tokyo in Shinjuku from December 7 (Monday) to 11 (Friday), at the venue, Funatsuhama Hirahama Parking,
on the day before the race from 12:00 to 19:00 on December 12 (Saturday), or at the venue from 7:00 to 8:00 on race day, December 13 (Sunday).
Domestic general entrants receive no standard commemorative gift.
The original long-sleeved T-shirt is an optional purchase, while a finisher medal and finisher towel are provided.
Bib clips are available as an optional purchase for 500 yen.
Baggage drop is at Hirahama Parking, inside Funatsuhama Parking, the main venue;
select whether you need it when entering, at an additional 100 yen.
Oversized baggage that will not fit in the 50cm×70cm envelope can be checked at the oversized-baggage tent for 500 yen, but valuables are not accepted.
A changing room operates at the souvenir shop at Funatsuhama, the start and finish area, from 7:00 to 16:00 on the 13th.
An immediate WEB finisher certificate (provisional result) is issued after finishing,
and once confirmed it can be used as an official finisher certificate, but only for entrants registered with the athletics federation.
Parking is paid and must be reserved in advance through the dedicated website, on a first-come, first-served basis;
applications are scheduled to open on October 1, 2026.
Designated parking is available only on race day, and illegally parked vehicles will be towed.
Shuttle buses run from the parking area, and free motorcycle and bicycle parking is available.
From the “Busta Shinjuku” highway-bus terminal at Shinjuku South Exit, Kawaguchiko Station is about 105 minutes away;
the venue is a 7-minute walk from the station.
Aid station paper cups are recycled, so runners are asked to put them in the designated bins;
they are recycled into paper products such as toilet paper.
