THE DREAM
Chasing a personal best or dreaming of a first finish.
This trip is built around your race.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“The Muscat Marathon was an eye-opener.”The runner entered the 5 km race and finished in 37 minutes. The runner was nervous before the start, but the support from the runners and people around them was encouraging. After finishing, the runner felt more confident about preparing for their next marathon.
“A traditional Omani band provided some entertainment along the route which was a pleasant relief.”The runner ran two flat laps of the coastal course and found the out-and-back section on the second lap mentally challenging. The runner's pace dropped in the middle and latter stages, but the runner recovered in the final section to set a personal best of 3:09:24.
“The Muscat Road Runners, race marshals and all the volunteers did a fantastic job hosting the third Muscat Marathon event.”Rural Route Runner experienced hot weather, water stations, and sections through the park at the 2014 Muscat 10K. At the finish, they received a finisher medal and rated the volunteers' and staff's work positively.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.
