THE DREAM
Course starts at Easton's Beach, follows the coastline and finishes back at the same beach.
Across the full 26.2 miles, the highest point is only 15.75 feet above sea level.
The race is held in partnership with the Newport Daffodil Days Festival.
Course passes more than 1.2 million daffodils as they begin to bloom around the city.
The marathon is a USATF-certified course and a Boston Marathon qualifying race.

Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I was surprised how hilly this race was.”At the Newport Road Race full marathon, the runner encountered more hills and coastal winds than expected. After falling behind the 4-hour group, the runner slowed further in the second half and finished in 4 hours 40 minutes 8 seconds.
“My legs are spent and don't want to get moving again.”Jeff enjoyed beautiful coastal scenery at the 2017 Newport Rhode Races Marathon, finishing in 2 hours 58 minutes 59 seconds to meet his sub-3-hour goal. Later hills and turnaround point at 21 miles left his legs exhausted, but running the early miles with a friend and hearing the cheers helped him through.
