The Optics Valley Marathon is course through a high-tech district in Wuhan's Donghu New Technology Development Zone,

often called the 'China Optics Valley.' course starts on the campus of Huazhong University of Science and Technology,

half marathon finishes at the Logo Square of the Optics Valley Central Ecological Corridor,

and the full marathon marathon ends at Wuhan Future Science & Technology City at finish.

The health run finishes at Optics Valley International Tennis Center, and moving across university campuses,

high-tech research parks, and ecological corridors is a defining feature of the event course.

Typical race-season temperature: around 13°C (55°F): Short sleeves or light long sleeves + arm warmers

City confirmed as Wuhan (武汉市), East Lake High-Tech Zone.

Getting to the finish

Half marathon finish: Optics Valley Central Ecological Corridor (光谷中央生态大走廊); Full marathon finish: 'Calla Lily' building, Future Science City. Nearest useful station: Guanggu 5th Road Station (光谷五路站) on Metro Lines 11/19.

Based on the previous edition,

registration opened at 10:00 AM on August 29 through the event's official website or the "Optics Valley Marathon" WeChat mini program.

A unique benefit of the event is a lottery for 700 direct-entry places in the Wuhan Marathon (Hanma, 汉马), the city's signature race, awarded to top finishers.

Race day starts at 8:00 AM, with cut-off point cut-off times set for each section.

Runners who fail to pass within the allotted time will no longer be recorded by the timing mats, and traffic in that section will return to normal.
