The road to your own record
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.

The city you want to run becomes your next trip.
THE DREAM
Held on Saturday, December 5, 2026, in Panama City Beach, Florida.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I rounded the corner and crossed the finish line with a chip time of 2:51:13.”At the 2023 Panama City Beach Marathon, this runner battled heavy rain and a flooded course to place 3rd overall in 2 hours 51 minutes 13 seconds. Despite fading late, they kept running, cut 9 minutes from their personal best, and qualified for Boston.
“It was cold, windy, and raining the entire race.”At the Panama City Beach Marathon, the runner struggled to take on fuel later in the race and walked with hamstring cramps. The runner picked up the pace again over the final stretch and, although the runner missed the target by finishing just over four hours, the runner significantly improved the personal best.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.

The Powerade Panama City Beach Marathon held its first race in December 2009 and drew more than 1,000 runners from 36 states and 5 countries that year.
The start and finish are on Pier Park Drive inside Pier Park, just north of Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville.
These days it's a small race, with around 300 full marathon finishers a year (295 in 2025).
The wheelchair marathon goes off at 6:55 a.m., the marathon at 7 a.m., the half marathon at 7:30 a.m., the 5K at 8 a.m.,
and the kids' run at 9:30 a.m. The half marathon leaves Pier Park Drive and heads east on Front Beach Road,
turns onto Thomas Drive just before mile 6, turns around at mile 6.5, and retraces the route to Margaritaville.
The marathon runs this out-and-back twice, sharing the road with half marathon runners.
The course is flat, with just over 20 feet (about 6 m) between its highest and lowest points, and the Gulf of Mexico is in view for most of it.
The full marathon is a certified course (certification number FL15004LAB),
so it's a Boston qualifier, and times from this race can be used to enter the 2028 Boston Marathon.
Water and Powerade are set out at every mile marker and at the start and finish, and energy gels are handed out too.
Beast Pacing provides pacer groups for the marathon and half marathon.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.

With a very small field of 300 runners, you can expect a quieter, more intimate atmosphere than at a large marathon.
The time limit is 6 hours, and the course closes at 1:00 PM sharp based on a 7:00 AM start.
Bib pickup takes place on December 4, the day before the race, at Dave & Buster's in Pier Park from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM,
and on race day at the Margaritaville main deck from 5:30 AM to 7:00 AM.
The post-race party is held at Margaritaville and opens to the public from 10:30 AM, with a 15% store discount for participants.
