About Rattler Trail Race — what makes it special

ABOUT THE RACE

A day you'll remember,
long past the finish line.

It is held on the trails of Palmer Park in Colorado Springs.

Runners overlook the city with Pikes Peak visible in the distance, and sandstone cliffs and rocky terrain line the singletrack throughout.

Elevation change is modest, but there are many technical sections.

and meet the city all over again.

Rattler Trail Race runner reviews and race reports

Stories from those who ran it first.

From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.

Race reports: 1
Joseph BrownRan in 2021 · Finish time 7:59
“There was no way I could do that. I knew I wasn’t going to quit.”

Joseph Brown ran low on energy around mile 13 of the 2021 Rattler Trail Race 50km because of insufficient fueling. Thoughts of quitting at halfway gave way to a promise to his daughter, and he kept going to finish in 7 hours, 59 minutes.

We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.

See it on video,
feel it through their stories.
