THE DREAM
This marathon starts in downtown Salina, Kansas.
The full, half marathon, 10K and 5K are joined by a children’s half-mile.
True to the city’s nickname, “The Crossroads of America,” this community festival uses the entire Great Plains downtown as its course.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I finished in 3:52:06, beyond my expectations and goal.”athlettuce ran a two-lap course in Salina. There was wind and a few hills, but they enjoyed the park stretches and the friendly organization, then blew past their four-hour goal with a late push.
“So, I dug deep, picked my pace back up and made the SPRINT to the finish.”Wet shoes, stomach pain, and fading energy made Nick Polanowski slow at the Salina Crossroads Marathon. Seeing finish gave him a fresh burst; his hamstring cramped immediately afterward, but he had completed his fifteenth marathon.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.

The Salina Crossroads Marathon starts and finishes in downtown Salina, Kansas.
The official website describes course as a flat, fast course on paved roads.
The route connects local streets and parks, showing both the small city centre and its green spaces.
The marathon course in the runner guide published by the organisers marks Lakewood Park, Indian Rock, Bill Burke Park and Oakdale Park.
The route passes between residential neighbourhoods and parks, with sections following levee roads.
During the loop, urban streets and open spaces along the river alternate, while the surface remains paved.
The flatness highlighted by the official course fits a route that links these everyday parts of the city.
Alongside full marathon and half marathon, the programme includes 10 km, 5 km run/walk events and a children’s half-mile run.
Participants competing for a long-distance time, people walking a shorter distance and children all gather under the same race name.
Rather than filling the day only with adult long-distance races, the event offers options that families can choose individually.
Full marathon is promoted as a Boston Marathon qualifying race.
The official registration page also accepts donations for Saline County youth sports.
Alongside an event where individuals pursue a finish and compete for a time,
there is a way to support local youth sports, connecting running with community activity.
