venue is Ranch Hand Group Picnic Area, Staunton State Park, in Pine, Colorado (mountain area near Conifer, CO) - private car required.

Note: this Pine is in Colorado (not Arizona/other Pine).

Getting to the finish

Finish is the same Staunton State Park venue.

Registration for 2026 opens on October 1 and closes at 11:59 PM on December 2, with on-site registration available if spots remain.

The overall field cap across all categories is 250, and the past 7 editions have all sold out.

The time limit is 12 hours for the 50K and 11 hours for the 16-mile and 8-mile;

crew/pacer are prohibited, and drop bags can only be left at the start/finish point.

Organizers note that the average December high is 44°F (about 6.7°C) and the low 17°F (about -8.3°C),

but conditions actually range widely, from 60°F (15.6°C) down to below freezing, with snow or rain.

Daylight lasts about 9 hours 30 minutes, and a shuttle runs from a separate parking area to the venue.
