The Perry Lake Trail is a 50km loop with 5 sections, with a cumulative elevation gain of approximately 1,000m (3,300ft). 25K back from the first supply station.
The 50km course is divided into five segments totaling roughly 1,000 meters (3,300 feet) of cumulative elevation gain.
Trails are marked with blue paint on trees and stakes;
the 25km course follows Old Military Trail from start then returns via the same route.
This race is part of an ultra trail series featuring 25km·50km·100K·125-mile divisions, allowing participants to choose distance by ability level.

Multiple trailhead parking areas are used along the course but no dedicated race-day parking/shuttle plan was published.
Slough & Steady is held near Ozawkie, a small rural community in northeastern Kansas with no public transit system. No transit card applies; a car is necessary for access.

The race starts Saturday, December 19 at 6:00 AM from Apple Valley (9252 Apple Valley Ln), Ozawkie, Kansas.
Course includes staffed aid stations at Old Military Trail trailhead, Lowry School building,
Slough Creek boat ramp, and Slough Creek campground, plus an unstaffed water point at mile 4.7.
Registration for 50K·25K·100K opened October 1 at 6 AM (Central Time);
125-mile opened the same day at midnight.
