Cut-off
Half marathon 3 hours
An out-and-back road course from Bukdamyong to the Man Reservoir Dam, with half marathon covering approximately 21.6km and about 713m of total elevation gain.
Half marathon course is an out-and-back section starting at Pak Tam Chung in Sai Kung,
heading to the East Dam Dolosse, and returning, with the finish set at the intersection of Man Yee Road and Man Yee Au.
With approximately 710m of total elevation gain, it is a course that fully reflects the rolling terrain of the Sai Kung Peninsula.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
Hong Kong Spark Run; participant pack collection information has not been published.
Get the Octopus Card — cash-only, about HK$39, and it works across the entire network (MTR, buses, trams, ferries), unlike bank-card tap-in which only covers the MTR.
Pak Tam Chung, Sai Kung, Hong Kong — remote country-park trailhead with no MTR access.
Organizer runs an extensive free shuttle bus system.
Runners without a car should plan around the organizer's fixed shuttle schedule — check the official site closer to race day for exact pickup points/times.
Same general Sai Kung/Pak Tam Chung area.
Free organizer shuttle buses from 5 pickup points across Hong Kong (detailed early-AM departure times published by the organizer) to Pak Tam Chung.
Octopus Card
At Hong Kong International Airport: MTR Customer Service Centres in the arrivals hall,
counters by the Airport Express platforms, 24/7 self-service vending machines, or the 7-Eleven in the Arrivals hall.
Also available at almost any MTR station and convenience stores citywide.
Works directly at the gates
Alternative: MTR Tourist Day Pass USD 9.60 (approx. HK$75) —
Only worth it if you're packing in 5+ MTR-only rides in a single day, since it excludes Airport Express,
Light Rail first class, and doesn't cover buses/trams/ferries the way Octopus does.
Airport/MTR counters sell the Octopus card for HKD cash only, so have Hong Kong dollars ready.
The 'Tourist' Octopus starts from HK$39 with no refundable deposit.
Foreign Visa, Mastercard,
and UnionPay contactless cards can tap directly at designated light-blue 'Contactless Payment' gates for MTR and Airport Express rides —
but only at adult fares, and it doesn't cover Light Rail, MTR buses, or High Speed Rail.
Octopus, by contrast, works across the whole system: MTR, Airport Express, buses, minibuses, taxis, the street tram, Star Ferry, and outlying-island ferries.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
To use the free shuttle, you must select a pick-up point when registering.
Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, and you cannot change the boarding point after applying or apply for additional shuttles later.
Registered participants show bib when getting on the bus.
Since the bus departure times for half marathon and short-distance events are different, it is better to move based on the traffic information for your event.
The bus drops you off at the Pak Tamcheong tourist bus parking lot, and from there,
walk to the departure point, Pak Tamcheong Park for the Disabled and Non-Disabled.
You can also store your luggage at this park.
Finish of the individual run is in Manau, so after completing it, you have to return to Pak Tamcheong to collect your luggage.
Please include a route in your itinerary that will not allow your luggage to be moved to finish.
You can leave one piece of luggage for free.
Keep the storage number sticker you received at check-in and show it to the volunteer when collecting it.
Once you retrieve your bag, you cannot leave it again, so please take out anything you need during the game before putting it away.
The charity relay starts, shifts and ends all in Man Au, and participants can take the free connecting bus from Pak Tam Chung or walk.
Relay participants also leave their luggage at Pak Tamcheong.
Times are local to Hong Kong. Check the latest official information before the race.
