At the 2015 Otterndorf Küstenmarathon, the runner completed four laps despite shin pain and a strong headwind. After a cautious start, the runner gradually picked up speed and finished in 3:59:40.

Bahnhof Otterndorf (EVB regional rail, Cuxhaven–Bremerhaven line) and adjacent Busbahnhof Otterndorf
Start/finish for the 10 km (and start area generally) is at the Rathaus (town hall) in Otterndorf, a short walk from both the Bahnhof and the Busbahnhof.
Small coastal town but has its own EVB rail station plus a bus terminal within walking distance of the venue.

Course loops via the Hadelner Kanal and Elbdeich back to the Rathaus finish, same station access as start.

Otterndorf is a small town on the North Sea coast connected to Cuxhaven by regional bus.
Local CuxhavenTicket day/group passes (from about 5 EUR) can be bought from bus drivers or at the CuxPoint service point in Cuxhaven for trips within the city network.
The nationwide Deutschland-Ticket is generally valid on regional buses and trains in this area,
though the rural connection to Otterndorf itself has limited frequency, so a car is a practical backup.
