The 10-kilometre loop course runs upstream and downstream along the river.
From the 2027 edition,
it will be a Japan Association of Athletics Federations-certified course and will count towards the All-Japan Marathon Ranking and half marathon ranking.
There are two events: full marathon and half marathon.
Full marathon is awarded in four age-group categories, with prize money.
This is the 12th edition.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I ran my first full marathon today.”
The runner ran the first full marathon at Tokyo Challenge. The runner followed the 3:30 pacer group, but slowed significantly after 35 km because of stomach cramps and a strong headwind along the Arakawa River.
