THE DREAM
The route continues from Johann-Wilhelm-Straße to Richard-Wagner-Straße, followed by a short, steep climb on Schlossstraße at the end of the road.
The first aid station is at the edge of the forest at 2 km mark, and following Wilhelmfeldweg leads to Lindenhütte.
The 6.4 km event turns around here.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“Running downhill was harder than running uphill.”
At the 2019 Wilhelmsfeld Kerwelauf half marathon, Katrin initially followed the pack's pace before finding herself running alone. The forest descents strained her thighs, but she met her sub-2-hour goal, finishing in 1 hour 49 minutes 39 seconds.

Anstrengend war das Bergablaufen mehr als die Anstiege.

The Wilhelmsfeld Kerwelauf is a running event held in the Odenwald mountain region village of Wilhelmsfeld alongside the village festival (Kerwe, Kerwe).
Starting and finishing at the Odenwaldhalle (approximately 365 m above sea level),
the course passes Riesenberg and Linde before climbing to course its highest point,
Prinzensitz (approximately 499 m above sea level), then returns to the Odenwaldhalle via Sitzbuche, Tanzplatz and Münchel on a loop course.
With more than 130 m of elevation difference between the highest and lowest points,
it is considered a course with clearly defined climbs and descents rather than a flat race.
A key feature is the chance to run through the Odenwald's natural scenery along forest paths.
Organized for many years by the local sports club TSG 1902 Wilhelmsfeld,
the 'Kerwe' in the race name refers to the traditional village festivals of southwestern Germany,
showing that the event has become part of a local festival rather than simply a running event.
