Start/finish is at Bear Head Hammock Recreational Area, 7112 N. Lecanto Hwy/CR 491, Hernando, FL, within the Withlacoochee State Forest.
Rural forest trailhead with no public transit access. Per prior edition (2026, held Sun 19 Apr 2026) — the 2027 date is not yet confirmed; the race typically runs the third Sunday of April.

A defining feature of this race is that it has no advance online registration and accepts only race-day on-site entries.
According to the organizer, registration opens 1 hour before the start,
and the race-day Entry fee are around $85 for the marathon, $65 for the half marathon, and $55 for the 10K;
payment by cash, check, or Venmo is accepted.
Start times are staggered by event: the marathon starts at 7:00 AM,
the half marathon at 8:00 AM, and the 10K at 8:30 AM, while course remains open until 2:30 PM.
The race uses horseback and hiking trails in the Two-Mile Prairie section of Withlacoochee State Forest near Hernando,
so trail running shoes and a handheld for water are recommended.
