This full- and half marathon marathon starts at Zhuge Liang Square in Xiangyang, the city of the Three Kingdoms.

Runners cross the Changhong Bridge over the Han River before linking the old streets of the historic city centre with the Tang City film set.

Starting from a square named after Zhuge Liang and crossing the Han River, it is an course with a vivid historical narrative.

诸葛亮广场

The event is divided into two categories, full marathon and half marathon, and both start from Zhuge Liang Square.

The finish for full marathon is also the same square, while half marathon finishes at the East Gate of Tang City.

Course crosses the Hanjiang Changhong Bridge, passes Tanxi Road and Shuanghu Road, and continues along Binjiang Avenue,

passing through old town streets such as Guzi Street, Jingzhou Street, and Dong Street, as well as Yangchunmen Park on Huancheng East Road.

It then turns around at Xianshan Road and enters the Tang City old street section.

Full marathon crosses the Fengchu Bridge here, passes Renmin Square, Renmin Road, and Qianjin Road,

continues to the area near Xiangyang Railway Station and Baima Square on Zhongyuan Road, then returns along Changhong Road to finish at Zhuge Liang Square.

Getting to the start

诸葛亮广场 (Zhuge Liang Square), Xiangyang — per prior edition (2025). Multiple bus routes stop directly at the square: 534, 543, 69, 10, 532, 541, 22, 547.

Per prior edition (2025, held Oct 19): full marathon, half marathon and 7km fun run all started at Zhuge Liang Square at 7:30am.

Nearby stops also serve the start area.

No metro/subway system in Xiangyang;

city buses plus the pre-race shuttle from the East HSR station are the documented options.

Getting to the finish

诸葛亮广场 area (per prior edition) — exact finish point not separately detailed.

Vehicle bans covered a wide area from midday the day before the race until the race ended (2025 edition).

Free shuttle buses ran from Xiangyang East (high-speed rail) Station to the bib pickup point at Xiangyang Sports Stadium (2025 edition).

On race day, all runners could ride city buses free by showing their bib number.

Registration is done through the event's official WeChat account 'Xiangyang Marathon,' and for 2026 opens on July 30 and closes at 18:00 on August 20.

On race day, traffic control will be enforced on many sections, including Changhong Road,

Changhong Bridge, Tanxi Road, Shuanghu Road, Binjiang Avenue, Guzi Street, and Jingzhou Street.

Vehicles without race-specific credentials are banned from entering these sections,

and vehicle traffic will also be blocked on the Changhong Bridge and Fengchu Bridge.
