THE DREAM
This 10km road race in Caracas has Gatorade as its title sponsor.
It is Venezuela’s only event to hold simultaneous certification from World Athletics,
the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and the Venezuelan Athletics Federation (FVA),
making its results internationally recognised.
Rock bands are positioned at course points along the course, providing live music throughout the race;
this is the origin of 'Rock' in the event’s name.
More than 12,000 runners registered for the 24th edition in 2025, a 60 percent increase on the previous year.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I'd recommend this experience to anyone who gets the chance. I hope I can do it again soon too.”
Crowds made for a slow start for Luis at the 2013 Gatorade Caracas Rock 10km, but they enjoyed the street support and well-placed aid station. Pleasant weather helped them set a then-personal best of 50 minutes, 10 seconds.

Argenis Correa ran their first 10km race at the 2011 Gatorade Caracas Rock, enjoying the roadside bands and cheering crowds. They slowed in the second half but finished with a chip time of 1 hour, 6 minutes, reflecting on their health and the value of consistent training.

Buy a SUVE card at any Caracas Metro station ticket window for metro/Metrobús travel, but bring cash (small-denomination USD or bolívares) as your main backup — foreign bank cards are not reliably usable in Venezuela and fares/prices change frequently.
Chacaito metro station (Caracas Metro Line 1) is the closest station; start line is on the Prados del Este highway near the golf courses in Baruta municipality, reached by a short walk or rideshare from Chacaito

One SUVE card covers Metro, Metrobús, Metrocable, Cabletrén de Petare, Metro de Los Teques, and the Valles del Tuy regional rail.
Fares and card prices are unstable and change often due to high inflation — treat any specific number as provisional and check locally.
Foreign-issued bank cards generally do not work reliably for payment in Venezuela due to sanctions and limited international processing.
Caracas Metro uses a rechargeable IC card (Tarjeta MetroCaracas) sold at station booths,
but given Venezuela's cash-based economy and safety/reliability concerns with the metro,
most runners and locals use ride-share apps or private taxis for race-day travel rather than the metro.
Parking (if driving) is available at nearby malls including Tolon, Paseo Las Mercedes, CCCT, and Eurobuilding Hotel.

Caracas sits in a valley basin at around 900 m above sea level and is known as the “City of Eternal Spring” because temperatures vary little throughout the year.
The average annual temperature is 23.4°C, ranging from 21.7°C in the coolest month, January, to 24.5°C in the hottest, May —
an annual variation of no more than 3°C.
The race takes place in early October, toward the end of the rainy season,
when showers accompanied by lightning are frequent, so it is advisable to bring a poncho or waterproof jacket.
The race starts at 7:00 a.m., and the first kilometre mark includes a steep uphill section with gradients of around 14%,
so you will need to manage your pace immediately after the start.
Times are local to Caracas. Check the latest official information before the race.
