The road to your own record
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.

The city you want to run becomes your next trip.
THE DREAM
Held over Memorial Day weekend, this is one of western New York’s leading races.
The route passes Lake Erie, KeyBank Center, Forest Lawn Cemetery and parks designed by Frederick Law Olmsted.
It is an Abbott World Marathon Majors qualifier.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I stepped off the course at mile 13.1 of the Buffalo Marathon and recorded my first ever DNF.”Duane Scotti dropped out of the Buffalo Marathon because reflux and heartburn at the 13.1-mile mark made it difficult to take in fuel and fluids properly.
“Buffalo was a beautiful race!”The runner found that the Buffalo race was not too large, was well organized, and had good local support and aid station support in the second half. In the runner's first marathon, the runner did not hit the wall and increased the pace in the second half, finishing in 3 hours 38 minutes 56 seconds.
“On sunday morning I ran the Buffalo marathon in 4:17:07 for my quickest marathon ever.”Eric set his fastest time at the 2025 Buffalo Marathon, finishing in 4 hours 17 minutes 07 seconds. He had initially planned to run with the 4 hours 30 minutes pace group, but ran by feel instead, endured the heat and hills, and finished without walking.
“Time: 3:26:46”The author gave a detailed account of running the Buffalo Marathon with a target pace and finishing in 3:26:46.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.

Full marathon and half marathon start together at 6:30 am from Delaware Avenue and Huron Street.
Along course, runners see Lake Erie, KeyBank Center, Forest Lawn Cemetery and parks designed by Frederick Law Olmsted,
as well as Buffalo’s architecture and downtown scenery.
Finish is directly in front of the Buffalo Convention Center, and start line, the pool and the finish of half marathon are within 900 feet.
Course is relatively flat and fast, with volunteer support, bicycle patrols and medical areas provided by finish.
Full marathon provides water and Gatorade every 2 miles from mile 2 of the first half, then provides aid every 1 mile in the second half.
PowerGel stations are located near miles 15 and 21.
The race takes place against the backdrop of Western New York on Memorial Day weekend, and the Heart to Heart program,
which allows participants to make donations related to heart disease, has operated since 2024.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
Fountain Plaza NFTA Metro Rail station (500 block of Main Street, between Huron and Chippewa Streets)
Marathon/half marathon start at Delaware Avenue & Huron Street, roughly 2-3 short blocks west of the Fountain Plaza Metro Rail station on Main Street —
an easy walk from the light rail line.
Transit-stop detail inferred from NFTA station locations relative to published start/finish addresses, not stated explicitly by the race itself.
Fountain Plaza or Church Street NFTA Metro Rail stations
Finish is in front of the Buffalo Convention Center in downtown Buffalo,
within walking distance of the same downtown Metro Rail stations (Fountain Plaza/Church), which run free within the downtown fare-free zone.
No dedicated organizer shuttle bus found;
downtown hotels are within walking distance of start/finish instead.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
Because the start is at 6:30 am, keep travel time short on race morning.
The start is at Delaware Avenue and Huron Street.
The finish and expo for the full and half marathon, as well as the post-race party, are concentrated around the Buffalo Convention Center.
The host hotel, Embassy Suites by Hilton, is very close to the convention center.
Other hotels and parking lots are nearby, and the drive from Buffalo Niagara International Airport to downtown takes approximately 20 minutes.
Check the local forecast for the morning of May 30 and choose your clothing accordingly.
Rather than drinking large amounts of water and Gatorade at once from the beginning, take them in portions according to your own plan.
Full marathon participants should decide in advance whether to use the PowerGel stations near miles 15 and 21.
For Packet Pickup, plan your route around the expo schedule.
VIP upgrades provide priority access to Packet Pickup, dedicated restrooms, VIP parking and dedicated bag storage.
Times are local to Buffalo. Check the latest official information before the race.
