A full marathon is not currently offered.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I would definitely would run the half again, not sure about the full.”Jeny spoke positively about the beautiful first half through downtown and the spectator support at the 2019 Charleston race. She said that there were fewer participants in the second half, the waterfront section became narrow, course was flat, and aid station were about 2 miles apart. She said she would like to run half marathon again but was hesitant about full marathon.
“A great race in a great town!”Bethany combined the 2017 Charleston half marathon with a trip. She said the expo was small but easy to get around, and it was convenient to be able to walk from her hotel to the start. She recorded that course passed along the waterfront and through downtown, with plenty to see at the beginning and end, while the middle section was flat and monotonous. Shrimp and grits, beer, fruit and juice were provided after the finish.
“I ran the Half.”The author ran the Charleston half marathon, experiencing a flat course, cold weather, aid stations, and enthusiastic support, and finished in 1:50:20, close to the 1:50 goal.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.

A USATF-certified half marathon through Charleston's historic downtown in South Carolina, with PNC Bank serving as the title sponsor.
Course takes runners past Rainbow Row, the landmark stretch of brightly colored townhouses;
Charleston City Market, a symbol of the historic district;
and the Gaillard Center, as well as views along the Ashley River, cobblestone streets, and the harbor.
The course once included sections outside Charleston's city limits, but from the 2024 race onward it was redesigned so that,
for the first time in the event's history, the entire course stays within the City of Charleston.
Race proceeds go to Charleston-area nonprofit Engaging Creative Minds,
supporting arts and cultural programs and educational initiatives that connect STEM professionals with K-12 schools.
A 5K and a free youth marathon are also held on the same day alongside half marathon, making the event suitable for families as well.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
