U-Bahn Klein Borstel
Start/finish at Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium, Wellingsbütteler Landstraße 43, 22337 Hamburg; official site states it is signposted from U-Bahn station Klein Borstel. Per official race-day traffic notice: U1 line is closed between Lattenkamp and Fuhlsbüttel-Nord on race day, with a bus replacement service running from those stations, and S-Bahn service to Ohlsdorf available as an alternative; organizers recommend cycling if possible.

No dedicated event shuttle mentioned; only a U-Bahn replacement bus service due to a scheduled U1 closure on race day.

Alternative: Hamburg CARD from €12.90 (1-day single) — Worth it if you're sightseeing for multiple days, since it bundles unlimited hvv travel (zone AB, incl. airport) with up to 50% off 150+ attractions.
Hamburg's transit system is proof-of-payment (no gates), so contactless bank cards work at ticket machines to purchase a ticket, but there is no confirmed direct tap-in/tap-out open-loop fare system yet. Some buses have stopped accepting cash entirely, making a card, app, or the hvv Prepaid Card the practical choice.
Hamburg's transit authority is HVV; single or day tickets can be bought at station vending machines (many now accept contactless card) or via the HVV app. Germany's nationwide Deutschlandticket also covers all HVV buses, trains and S-Bahn if staying longer.

The race venue is walkable from U-Bahn Klein Borstel station, making it easy to reach from central Hamburg.
A course through the greenery along the upper Alster River, this family-oriented event also includes half marathon, a 10km race and children’s events.
