The race is held in December, during Macau’s dry season, when dry northerly winds from the mainland bring the lowest rainfall of the year.
Average high temperatures are about 20.3°C and lows about 14.3°C, with average humidity around 70%,
making training and racing less demanding than in the hot, humid summer.
Because course includes bridges and major roads linking the Macau Peninsula, Taipa and Cotai, runners may be exposed to winds from the sea.
Founded in 1981, the event became the region’s first international marathon.
Times are local to Macao. Check the latest official information before the race.
