The road to your own record
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.

The city you want to run becomes your next trip.

THE DREAM
It is the largest marathon held in Kuwait City.
Course runs along the Gulf coastline, passing both traditional Arabian architecture and modern buildings.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“The route was very enjoyable the first like 12 KM, then became somewhat repetitive doing the same 10K loop three times.”Tor Rønnow ran the full marathon at the 2022 Gulf Bank 642 Marathon in Kuwait, struggling with fatigue and 28°C heat. He enjoyed the scenery over the first 12km, but found the later section monotonous as it repeated the same 10km loop three times.
“I was coming off a hamgstring injury and was overall pleased with my effort.”At Kuwait's Gulf Bank 642 half marathon Marathon, the runner had to weave around 5km and 10km walkers on the turnaround section and found the lack of toilets inconvenient. Water stops and the souk atmosphere were enjoyable, and the runner was satisfied despite recovering from a hamstring injury.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.

From the 2025 editionWe have not confirmed the start line coordinates yet. The map shows the host city.
Held in the heart of downtown Kuwait City, course follows the Gulf coastline, linking traditional Arabian scenery with modern architecture.
Full marathon and half marathon are held.
As of the 2024 and 2025 editions, the start and finish were located near the Souq Sharq pier on Arabian Gulf Road, with a 7:00 a.m. start time.
The Al Mirqab, Al Enma Tower address listed on the official site is the organizer's office and kit pickup location, not the start venue.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
Official race kits are distributed at the Athlete Village set up in Souq Sharq for the four days before the race.
Required documents, proxy pickup rules, and whether race-day pickup is available have not been confirmed.

Souq Sharq (Souq Sharq Pier), Arabian Gulf Road, Kuwait City
Per the 2024/2025 editions (confirmed via Gulf Bank press releases): start/finish at Souq Sharq, with a 4-day pre-race activity/kit-collection village there; start time has been 7:00am. Kuwait has no operational metro/rail; runners rely on private car, taxi, or ride-hailing (Careem/Uber).
Note: the official site's listed address is the organizer's office/kit-collection point, not the start venue.
Souq Sharq (same as start)
Finish co-located with start; finish line area hosted a Gulf Bank pop-up branch in 2024.
None documented — access via private car/taxi/rideshare only. Per prior editions, Arabian Gulf Road between Souq Sharq and Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre closes to traffic in both directions roughly 6:30-9:30am race day, and the segment between Green Island and Souq Sharq closes in one direction until ~12:30pm — factor this into drop-off/pickup planning.
K-Card (KPTC rechargeable card)
Not clearly documented — appears to require contacting KPTC directly (info@kptc.com.kw / +965 22328866) or KPTC offices; no confirmed airport/kiosk sales point found Not accepted at the gates — get the local card above
Alternative: CityBus day/weekly/monthly passes ~3.500 KWD (weekly); a 3-month KPTC pass at 25 KD also exists — Only worth it if riding buses daily for a week+; for a short race trip, single cash fares (250-350 fils) or taxis/ride-hailing are more practical since most residents and visitors rely on taxis rather than buses. Kuwait's public bus network (KPTC and CityBus) is limited and largely used by expat workers rather than tourists; most tourists and even locals default to taxis or ride-hailing.
Flat fares run about 250-350 fils depending on distance; carry small cash denominations as drivers may not always have exact change.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
The course runs through central Kuwait City and features sections along the Gulf coastline and past modern architecture.
It holds a World Athletics-certified road-race label and AIMS registration,
and includes an Abbott World Marathon Majors Age Group Qualifier category.
The events are 42 km, 21 km, 10 km, and 5 km.
The official website lists November 28, 2026, as the race date, but the start and bib-pickup locations are still marked “to be confirmed” at this time.
The official website states that aid-station locations, cutoff times, and the detailed course will be announced closer to race day.
Participants should check the regulations released nearer the event.
Times are local to Kuwait. Check the latest official information before the race.
