This full and half marathon marathon runs inside Hengdian World Studios, China’s largest film-production complex.

The route passes between the Palace of the Ming and Qing Dynasties,

the Qin Palace and the Along the River During the Qingming Festival sets, with a total field of 22,000.

With palaces and old-street sets as the backdrop, it is one of China’s only course where you run through a period drama.

The Hengdian Marathon is famous for its unique course,

which runs directly through Hengdian World Studios in Dongyang, Zhejiang, China's largest film-production base.

Course passes in succession through period-drama sets including Mingqing Palace, Qin Palace and Along the River During the Qingming Festival,

as well as the Huaxia Culture Park and the Chun Garden and Summer Garden sections of New Yuanming Palace.

It offers the unusual experience of running among palace and old-street sets.

Along the route, costumed extras (NPCs) cheer on participants, and photo spots recreate scenes from well-known films and TV dramas.

The atmosphere of 'running through period-drama sets' is considered the race's standout feature, unlike anything found at most city marathons.

Start is at the parking area below the main gate of Mingqing Palace, Hengdian World Studios. No public transit or metro directly serves Hengdian; the nearest hub is Yiwu high-speed rail station.

Race date 2026-11-15 and city Hengdian/Dongyang/Jinhua per DB; specific 2026 details not found, and general access information is standard year-round.
