Start line and finish are both Cumhuriyet Square.

After leaving the square, runners complete a loop around the turnaround point beside the İnciraltı sports facilities before returning to the same square.

There is one event distance: 21.097 km, with all participants running the same course.

Now in its 14th edition, the race is held under the competition regulations of the Turkish Athletics Federation and World Athletics.

Course starts here, runs to the turnaround at the turnaround point in front of the İnciraltı sports facilities, and returns to the square.

Held each autumn as the 'Dokuz Eylül İzmir half marathon', the event reaches its 14th edition in 2026.

The start is at 7:30 AM on Sunday, September 13.

The distance is 21.097km and the time limit is 2 hours 30 minutes (150 minutes).

İzmir is considered the largest metropolitan area on the Aegean coast.

Separately from this half marathon, İzmir has also hosted the full marathon event, the İzmir Marathon, every autumn since 2020.

no İzmirim Kart purchase required.

As of April 2026 the full single-ride fare (İzmirim Kart) is 35 TL;

READY TO RUN

From race morning to after the finish.

Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.

Aid station stations are set up every 2.5 km, at the 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15, 17.5 and 20 km mark and finish.

That is a particularly frequent spacing for a half marathon.

Bib must be collected in person at Cumhuriyet Square from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on September 11, two days before the race,

or from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on September 12, the day before the race.

Race-day collection is not available, and registration closes at 5:00 p.m. on September 7, six days before the race.

Entry fee costs 750 Turkish lira, of which 200 lira covers Turkish Athletics Federation insurance and participation fees.

İzmir has an Aegean climate, with summer daytime highs reaching 30–36°C.

Mid-September is still late summer, so temperatures can rise even in the morning,

although the regularly occurring etesian winds from the Aegean tend to moderate the heat somewhat.

The full marathon, held in the same city in autumn, is a separate race starting on Şair Eşref Boulevard, so check the details before registering.
