The road to your own record
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.

The city you want to run becomes your next trip.

THE DREAM
It is a race that crosses New Hampshire's White Mountains.
Starting and finishing at Waterville Valley, it is considered one of the toughest trail races in the world.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I cursed and loved every minute of it.”The runner navigated rocks, roots and mud at Jigger Johnson 50 miles, struggling with night navigation and fueling. Finishing later than hoped prompted reflection on early pacing, course training, food and mental state.
“I promised myself I would run across the finish line no matter what.”The runner overcame heavy rain, mud, a water-damaged headlamp and a wrong turn at the Jigger Johnson 100-mile race. Vomiting and painful feet meant repeated rests and sleep, but the runner eventually ran across the finish with poles.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.
