The city you want to run becomes your next trip.

THE DREAM
Chasing a personal best or dreaming of a first finish.
This trip is built around your race.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“This was my second time at this race, together with my friend Amir Shafiq.”
Returning with a friend to the Langkawi International half marathon, the runner enjoyed a new course through Ulu Melaka and Kota Mahsuri. Tougher hills than the previous year led to a 2-hour 41-minute personal best, though traffic management felt inadequate after 13km.

RACE WEEK
Know the course and time limit, and race day comes into focus.
This race is held as a single half marathon category.
Both the start and finish are inside the indoor exhibition hall of the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC) in Padang Matsirat,
and starting indoors in air conditioning is reported to be the first of its kind among Malaysian races.
The course heads out along Pantai Cenang beach boulevard before returning to finish inside the MIEC.
The MIEC is about a 30-minute drive south of Langkawi International Airport (LGK), and the previous editions from 2023 to 2025 also used the same venue.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
Race packs are scheduled to be distributed at MIEC, the event headquarters and start venue, but the official collection date and time for the 2026 edition (the fifth edition) have not yet been announced.
The rules for collection by proxy have also not been published.

Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC), Lot 274 Jalan Lima, Padang Matsirat, 07000 Langkawi, Kedah
LIHM is run as an indoor-start/finish race inside the air-conditioned MIEC exhibition hall — reportedly the first Malaysian race event with an indoor start. MIEC sits roughly a 30-minute drive south of Langkawi International Airport (LGK), just past Helang Hotel on Jalan Lima.
Langkawi is an island with no public rail/bus network geared to visitors, so runners reach MIEC by taxi, Grab (limited availability), rental car, or hotel-arranged transport. prior editions (2023-2025) used the same venue.
Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC) — same indoor venue as the start
Course runs out along the main Pantai Cenang beach strip and loops back indoors to MIEC for the finish.
A limited, color-coded local bus network exists but has sparse stops and long wait times, making it impractical for race travel logistics. Taxis are unmetered and fares must be agreed upfront (~RM18 for a 15-min ride); Grab is the more reliable/transparent option and is active on the island.
Scooter/motorbike rental runs roughly RM25-40/day.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
Langkawi has a tropical monsoon climate and receives more than 2,400mm of rain annually.
The relatively short dry season runs from December to February, while the longer wet season lasts from March to November.
September is the wettest month, and monthly rainfall can exceed 500mm.
As an island, Langkawi is generally humid, so the heat can feel intense even during the dry season.
Check whether the race falls in the dry or wet season in advance;
this will help you assess likely course conditions.
Langkawi is a designated duty-free island, so entry and customs procedures differ from those on mainland Malaysia.
The island’s attractions include the cable car and Sky Bridge, Seven Wells Waterfall,
Kilim Karst Geoforest Park and Durian Perangin Waterfall, which may be useful to know if you have time before or after the race.
Times are local to Langkawi. Check the latest official information before the race.
