The city you want to run becomes your next trip.
THE DREAM
The Foz do Iguaçu International Marathon is organised by Sesc-PR in Brazil’s Paraná state and will be held for the 16th time on September 27, 2026.
The 42.195km course starts at the Itaipu Binacional hydroelectric dam, one of Brazil’s two signature tourist attractions, and finishes at Iguaçu National Park.
It is certified by the Brazilian Athletics Confederation.
Alongside full marathon, the programme includes a two-person relay, with each runner covering 21.097km, plus 10km and 5km races.
The overall field is capped at 5,000.
The event took a break in 2025 because of scheduling adjustments and returns in 2026.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I didn’t achieve the time I wanted, but I can still call myself a marathoner.”
A right-calf problem meant they could not maintain their planned pace from 23 km onward, but they finished in 4:13:32 and wrote that they would prepare better the following year.
Quoted from the original · translated
Posso dizer que sou um maratonista, apesar de não ter completado a prova no tempo desejado.
Read the original on Sidclei Nagasawa“For 42km, we ran side by side, sharing water and salt.”
At Foz do Iguaçu International Marathon, the runner shared pace and supplies with two companions while tackling their first full marathon. They shed tears in the final stretch with their family and finished in 3 hours 42 minutes 45 seconds without walking once.
