YOUR ENTRY
Here are the ways to enter and what each requires.
Check the organizer's page for whether entries are open.
Official name: 'half marathon de la Ciudad de México BBVA';
21k.cdmx.gob.mx (organized by the Mexico City government).
Online registration is open until Wednesday, while on-site registration at the expo is open until Saturday;
early sell-out is possible.
'Race with Purpose' program — when you register at a higher price, up to 50% of the difference is donated to the foundation.
RACE WEEK
Know the course and time limit, and race day comes into focus.
The half marathon starts at the Hemiciclo a Juárez in Alameda Central and finishes at the Ángel de la Independencia on Paseo de la Reforma,
one of Mexico City's central boulevards.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
Tap your own contactless Visa or Mastercard (or Apple/Google/Samsung Pay) directly at Metro and Metrobús gates — no card purchase needed for those two systems. Get a rechargeable MI (Tarjeta de Movilidad Integrada) card only if you'll also use RTP buses, Tren Ligero, Trolebus, or Cablebus, which are card-only.
Metro Bellas Artes or Metro Hidalgo (Lines 2/3) — short walk to Alameda Central/Hemiciclo a Juárez start
For the 2026 (XIX) edition, Metro Lines 1, 2, 3 and 9 opened early at 5:00 AM (vs normal 7:00 AM Sunday),
and runners could enter the Metro free system-wide by showing their bib.
Start 6:00-6:10 AM.
Metro Sevilla or Metro Insurgentes (Line 1) — near the Ángel de la Independencia finish on Paseo de la Reforma
2026 course added a segment through the Third Section of Bosque de Chapultepec before returning along Reforma to the finish.
No dedicated shuttle — the free/extended Metro service (Lines 1, 2, 3, 9 from 5 AM, free entry with bib) functioned as the de facto race-day transit solution.
~30,000 runners in 2026.
Tarjeta de Movilidad Integrada (MI card)
Metro station ticket booths and vending machines
Works directly at the gates
Paper magnetic tickets are no longer sold, so the MI card or contactless bank tap are the only ways to ride Metro.
The MI card costs 15 pesos, tops up in increments up to 99 pesos per recharge, and caps at a 500-peso balance.
Contactless bank-card coverage is uneven across turnstiles, so carry some backup cash/MI balance.
A special-edition MI card was also being issued for the 2026 FIFA World Cup period.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
Registration opens at midday on the announced date and can fill up before the closing deadline, so sign up promptly.
Times are local to Mexico City. Check the latest official information before the race.
