THE DREAM
The race takes place on trails south of Blue Marsh Lake.
It is a course consisting of 5.5 miles out, a 4.5-mile loop, and 5.5 miles back;
the 50K repeats this twice.
Personal drop bags are available at mile 15.5.
The course is 80% singletrack and 20% gravel roads.

Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I was pacing according to how I feel.”At the Naked Nick 50km, the runner completed two laps on legs still recovering from a 100-mile race. Rather than chase a time, the runner adjusted running and walking to how the body felt and finished in 7 hours and 30 minutes.
“I trudged those last two miles shivering, walking more than I ran.”At the Naked Nick 50km, they urged themselves to keep moving through mud and late fatigue. After 50km, roughly 2 miles remained to finish; they walked in the rain but finished their first ultra in 5 hours 9 minutes 1 second, placing 12th.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.

Course starts at the Blue Marsh Lake Day Use Area.
The lollipop-shaped course begins with 5.5 miles out to a 4.5-mile loop, followed by 5.5 miles back;
50K participants complete this full section twice.
Drop bags are available at mile 15.5, making mid-race fueling relatively convenient.
The surface is 80% singletrack mountain trail and 20% gravel forest road.
The 50K has approximately 900m (3,000 feet) of elevation gain, making it relatively runnable and not especially technical for a trail race,
though runners should watch their footing around occasional rocks and tree roots.
