RACE WEEK
Know the course and time limit, and race day comes into focus.
O'Neill Park Trail Races is organized by KH Races, which runs a trail racing series across Southern California.
The venue is O'Neill Regional Park in Trabuco Canyon, Orange County.
Covering approximately 4,500 acres, the park includes Trabuco and Live Oak Canyons, shaded by coast live oak and sycamore trees,
and is regarded as one of the premier course in the southern Orange County trail-running scene.
The race is divided into four events—50K, 30K, half marathon, and 10K—welcoming everyone from beginners looking for a shorter distance to ultra runners.
The course features rolling single-track trails climbing through and descending into the canyons,
with many tree-shaded sections that make it a relatively comfortable course even in California's dry climate.
In addition to this race, KH Races operates a Southern California trail series offering distances from 10K to 100 miles.
The O'Neill Park race is reportedly one of the events that opens the spring season in that series.

Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
No confirmed direct route to the venue. O'Neill Regional Park (30892 Trabuco Canyon Rd, Trabuco Canyon, CA) is in Orange County, CA; OCTA operates OC Bus service in the broader Rancho Santa Margarita/Mission Viejo area, but no specific route/stop was confirmed reaching the park entrance.
Course runs through O'Neill Regional Park's Trabuco and Live Oak Canyons; parking is $5. Suburban Orange County canyon park, but not directly transit-served — nearest OCTA service is several miles away; car/rideshare recommended.
Same as start — course finishes at the park.
Bib pickup also available the day before at Fleet Feet Laguna Niguel, a separate suburban location not near the venue.
Trabuco Canyon is in Orange County, CA, where OCTA's OC Bus network runs on the 'Wave' payment system — riders tap a physical Wave card, the Wave app, or simply a contactless bank card/Apple Pay/Google Pay at the validator (about $2/ride, $5 daily cap); note this replaces the LA Metro TAP card, which is not used on OCTA. O'Neill Regional Park itself is not well served by bus routes, so driving is the practical option for race day.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
Registration is handled through UltraSignup,
and all events reportedly start together at 7:30 a.m. and finish by 4:30 p.m. The start/finish is at O'Neill Regional Park,
where parking reportedly cost approximately $5 the previous year.
KH Races events generally have a no-refund policy, but if a race is canceled because of wildfire or severe weather,
the organizer typically allows entries to be transferred to a makeup date or another event in the series.
Check the cancellation policy before registering.
Times are local to Trabuco Canyon. Check the latest official information before the race.
