Pingtung Marathon is a city race organised by the Pingtung County Government in southern Taiwan, starting on the grounds of Pingtung County Stadium.

It offers five events: full marathon, half marathon, Challenge,

Leisure Run, and Health Walk, catering to a range of fitness levels.

Under the theme 'Southern sunshine, cultural character and city landmarks',

the organisers have designed the course so runners can experience Pingtung's urban scenery and local culture along the way.

我的旅跑生活Ran in 2020

“There was no sunlight while running under the national bicycle route, but unfortunately there was no wind either. This was the fourth aid station of the course, approximately 12 km mark.”

The runner ran the Pingtung full marathon, passing the bike path and the Liudui Hakka Cultural Park. The runner took a photo at Pingtung Sports Park at 31 km and briefly stopped at an intersection at 39 km because of traffic control.

Full marathon and half marathon start from the lawn of Pingtung County Stadium and pass major downtown attractions.

Around course are Victory Star Village Creative Living Park, converted from former Japanese-style official residences;

the riverside greenway along the Wannian River and Wannian River Scenic Bridge;

Fuxing Park, which preserves the area's waterway ecology;

the main Pingtung County Library;

and the Pingtung Performing Arts Center, giving the urban course a distinctly city-based character.

The 42km full marathon has an time limit cut-off point,

requiring runners to pass the Nanxing Road aid station at approximately 30km mark by 11:10 and the Pingtung County People's Park aid station at approximately 39km mark by 12:10.

Venue is Pingtung County Stadium grounds (屏東縣立體育館草皮) in Pingtung City. No specific train/bus route to the venue was confirmed on the official page.

City: Pingtung City, Pingtung County, Taiwan. Recommend runners take TRA to Pingtung Station then taxi/bus to the stadium; distance not verified.

READY TO RUN

From race morning to after the finish.

Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.

Race packets are mailed out before the race.

You'll get a commemorative shirt (your choice of singlet or short sleeve), your bib,

and a timing chip, and receiving the packet counts as completing registration.

There's no race-day check-in: just pin your bib on your chest, tie the chip flat on your shoelaces, and line up behind the start arch.

The NT$100 chip deposit is refunded when you return the chip after the finish.

The race site is the lawn of the Pingtung County Stadium inside Pingtung Park in central Pingtung.

Gear check opens at 5 a.m. along with the event, followed by a group warm-up at 5:40 a.m. and the move to the start at 5:50 a.m. After 6:30 a.m.,

the start line closes and late runners can't start.

The course runs on open roads with traffic.

Volunteers direct runners at major intersections, but you may have to wait at lights.

Bringing your own cup is encouraged.

After the finish, show your bib to collect your finisher gift: a folding chair for the 42K and 21K,

a camping moon chair for the 11K and 5K, plus a boxed lunch for 42K finishers.

The race goes on rain or shine.

Pingtung lies south of the Tropic of Cancer and has a tropical monsoon climate, so even in November, average highs are around 29°C and lows around 19°C.

For public transit, take a city or intercity bus that stops at Pingtung Park or Shengli Road.

If you're driving, the venue gets crowded, so arrive at least an hour early.
