The city you want to run becomes your next trip.
THE DREAM
Course centers on Dongshan Train Station in Yilan County, Taiwan, connecting the Dongshan River waterfront, green ecological spaces, and local villages.
The race is run with environmental considerations,
such as not providing disposable cups and instead encouraging personal water bottles, and prioritizes using local markets and shops.

Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“Hearing you cheer along the way kept me moving forward.”
Xue Xiaomao ran the half marathon at the 2014 Dongshan River Marathon while dealing with an injury's lingering effects, stomach pain, and a headwind. Despite congestion on the narrow riverside course, friends' encouragement helped Xue hold on and set a personal best.

The start/finish of the 2026 Dongshanhe Marathon is the plaza in front of Dongshan Train Station.
The flagship event, the full marathon (42K), leaves the train station and follows the Dongshan River bike path downstream toward the river mouth first,
then turns back and heads upstream, forming an out-and-back course.
Along this stretch, runners pass a series of key bridges and ecological sections along the riverbank,
including Jialiyuan Bridge, Xibin Road, Waiziwai Bridge, Jiadong Bridge, and the Ecological Oasis.
Six water/aid stations are set up across the entire course,
all clustered around riverside bridges (Jiadong Bridge, Jialiyuan Bridge, Gemalan Bridge, Waiziwai Bridge, and the north/south ends of Dongshanhe Bridge),
meaning most of the aid comes while running along the river.
In addition to the full marathon, shorter events such as the half marathon (21K), Challenge (10K),
and Family (5K) are also held, allowing participants to choose to run just part of the river course.
