ABOUT THE RACE

A day you'll remember,

This is the World Athletics Elite Label half marathon held in Prague, Czech Republic.

It is organized by RunCzech.

It is included in both SuperHalfs, which links six European cities,

and the Czech RunCzech Halfs series, allowing you to continue both series journeys with one entry.

The map included in the official 2027 information is still the 2026 reference map, and the map for the new edition will be published later.

Prague Half Marathon runner reviews and race reports

Stories from those who ran it first.

From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.

Race reports: 2
Florian PetersRan in 2025
“The start area was centrally located and easy to reach on foot or by public transport.”

Prague half marathon participants praised the easily accessible expo and riverside course, while noting that the starting-block layout caused congestion early on.

Quoted from the original · translated

Original quote

Der Startbereich war zentral gelegen und sowohl zu Fuß als auch mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln gut erreichbar.

Debra GibbsRan in 2025
“Very well organised with a good bag drop (drop off and pick up).”

At the 2025 Prague half marathon, the runner experienced queues for collecting their bib number and for the toilets. They enjoyed the riverside, bridges and Old Town scenery, but had to watch out for cobblestones and tram tracks.

We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.

More details

Getting to the start

Metro line C -- get off at Vltavska (or Nadrazi Holesovice if arriving from the north, e.g. Letnany)

Use public transport metro C and get off at Vltavska, or if coming from the north (Letnany) get off at Nadrazi Holesovice. Race bib does NOT serve as a public transport ticket -- a separate PID Litacka ticket is required.

Street-closure details below are from the 2026 edition's official traffic page (2027 equivalent not yet published). Race day (2026: 00:01-4:00pm) brought parking bans and full closures across central Prague (17. listopadu, Krizovnicka, Smetanovo nabrezi, Narodni, Na Prikope, Celetna, Parizska), vehicles left in banned zones towed.

Unlimited entrance/exit maintained on: Dlouha, Revolucni, Klimentska, Na Porici, Hybernska, Spalena, Vodickova, Jindrisska, Senovazne namesti, Petrske namesti, V Celnici, Wilsonova. Metro recommended as main way to move around during closures.

Getting to the finish

Same location as start -- Bubenske nabrezi, Holesovice (Metro C: Vltavska / Nadrazi Holesovice)

Start and finish are both at Bubenske nabrezi, Holesovice.

IC card

Lítačka

DPP (Prague Public Transit Co.) points of sale or online at litacka.cz / via the PID Lítačka app — but it is not designed for short-stay tourists (it targets monthly/quarterly/annual pass holders and discount holders like children/seniors). Works directly at the gates

Alternative: PID 24-hour / 72-hour short-term ticket 24-hour: 150 CZK (paper) / 140 CZK (via app). 72-hour: ~350 CZK (paper) / 340 CZK (via app) — Worth buying instead of tapping your bank card each ride if you'll take more than about 4 rides in a day — each Tap&Go tap costs 39 CZK (30 min) or 50 CZK (90 min), which adds up past the flat-rate day ticket.

Tap&Go fares: 39 CZK for a 30-minute ticket, 50 CZK for a 90-minute ticket, charged directly to the contactless bank card used to tap. The Lítačka card itself has an issuance fee of roughly 200 CZK and is oriented toward residents/longer stays.

24-hour and 72-hour ticket holders can also ride the Petřín funicular at no extra charge.
