The road to your own record
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.

The city you want to run becomes your next trip.

THE DREAM
The starting signal sounds around sunset.
Start line and finish are both at Prague's náměstí Republiky square.
There is just one event: a 10 km race.
You can run it solo, or enter the 3×10 km team race in the women's, men's, or mixed division, with three runners each completing 10 km and their times combined.
The 2026 race will be the 29th edition.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“And I made it. Against all the odds.”After missing transport, the runner reached start line for the Prague 10km Night Race without time to change or eat properly. In everyday clothes and thin shoes, the runner cautiously negotiated dark roads, stayed hydrated, and finished amid riverside night views and cheering crowds.
“I’m happy to have achieved my goal of finishing without major health problems or exhaustion.”
Ficcus started the Prague 10km Night Race slowly before picking up speed later on. Enjoying family support and street music, Ficcus finished without major health problems in 57 minutes 21 seconds from crossing start line.

The Prague 10K Night Race is a 10-kilometer race run around downtown Prague during twilight hours.
It was first held in 1996 under the name of the O2 Prague Grand Prix, and later the sponsor changed and it continues under the current name.
Currently, course was newly introduced in 2013.
It is designated as a World Athletics Gold Label road race and is a part of the Prague Running Series organized by RunCzech.
The men's record of course is 26 minutes and 46 seconds set by Ronex Kipruto of Kenya in 2018, and the women's record is 29 minutes and 43 seconds set by Joyciline Jepkosgei of Kenya in 2017.
Until 2012, the women's race only ran 5 kilometers, but later it was unified to 10 kilometers for both men and women.

Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
An ID card or passport and your bib number (available in your Runners ID profile about two weeks before the race) are required.
Someone else may collect your pack only if online authorization has been registered through Runners ID or a notarized letter of authorization is provided.
Collection is available until 17:00 before the 19:30 race-day start.
Tap your foreign contactless Visa/Mastercard (or phone wallet) at a yellow validator when boarding a tram/bus, or at a ticket terminal in the metro station vestibule before the platform — it automatically issues a valid PID ticket, so you don't need to install an app or buy a card.
Náměstí Republiky metro station (Line B), directly at the start/finish square
Start/finish at Náměstí Republiky (Republic Square), Old Town, race begins 7:30 PM.
Station exits also serve Masarykovo nádraží suburban rail terminal and Palladium mall.
Detailed road-closure map (PDF) published closer to the event;
individual car transport best checked via Waze on race day.
Náměstí Republiky metro station (Line B) — same as start (out-and-back along the Vltava)
Technical/gear-check area at the lower part of Václavské náměstí (Wenceslas Square), open 6-10 PM race night, easy walk from Náměstí Republiky.
No dedicated runner shuttle;
race fully served by regular Prague metro/tram network in the city center.
PID Lítačka (Prague's official personalized rechargeable travel card and companion app) — not required for short visits since contactless bank cards work directly
The Lítačka app (App Store/Google Play, for a virtual card) or a physical card from DPP customer centers
Works directly at the gates
Alternative: 24-hour PID ticket 140 CZK via the Lítačka app / 150 CZK if bought on paper or via a contactless-card tap at a terminal (2026 tariff) —
Worth buying if you'll take more than about 3 rides in a day (e.g., race expo, hotel, start line, sightseeing);
for 1-2 trips, single tickets are cheaper.
Prague's metro has no gates or turnstiles —
it runs on a proof-of-payment system,
so you tap your card at a validator/terminal to purchase and validate a ticket before entering the platform, not to 'enter' through a barrier.
Plainclothes inspectors check tickets regularly and fines for riding without a valid one are roughly 1,500 CZK.
A single 30-minute ticket bought via contactless tap costs 36-42 CZK.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
The race is in the evening, so plan your day and your prerace waiting time separately.
In 2026, starts began at 7:30 p.m., so for the next edition, plan meals and your warm-up around an evening race.
Put the Packet Pickup location and hours into your travel plans first, and check whether there's gear check.
In September, when the race is held, Prague averages a high of 20.4°C (about 69°F), a low of 12.2°C (about 54°F), and a mean of 16.2°C (about 61°F).
Average rainfall for the month is 33.9 mm, less than in the peak summer months of June to August (61.9 to 68.6 mm).
Because it's a night race that starts at twilight, it will likely feel closer to the average or low temperature than the average high.
Temperatures drop after sunset, so bring a layer for the wait.
As of 2019, the race had 6,193 runners—modest for a downtown 10K.
Times are local to Prague. Check the latest official information before the race.
